Top 5: Face, Body and Beauty Edition
Hey friends! I am looking at ways to lighten up my posts, and share things with people that read my posts. I would love to write deep things all the time, but sometimes I feel like I can be a bit overwhelming so this post is all about things I love, beauty things I love!!! I wanted to let you know that I have not been paid to talk about these topics, honestly, I love reviewing things and like to share my favorite things with those I love.
5. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream - Honestly I dont know where to begin with this. I have had a love hate relationship with this product for a few years. Let me explain why... This product is so creamy, and thick that in the summer it is really heavy on a hot day. However, in the winter this cream will literally save your life. I wont lie to you I dont always have the best habit of applying lotion or creams after showering. I like to get out and just be done with the whole thing. I HAVE THINGS TO DO HELLO! This is why I love the product so much; about 5 years ago I really didnt have any regime for taking care of my skin. So because of that I developed a severely dry skin condition in the winter. I went to my primary doctor thinking I was suffering from a skin allergy and ultimately I would die from complications (not true, but to me it felt like it). I was told to switch soaps, and try lotions, perhaps switching my diet, but nothing worked. Finally, she recommended I go to the Dermatologists, to see if this was something they could help me with! From the minute I stepped into the office this angel of a Dermatologist suggested CeraVe. I'm telling you from the first day I started using it, I noticed a change in my skin. From the shower "creme" to the heavy moisturizing cream, this brand is highly recommended by Dermatologists all over the globe. I use it more so in the winter because it is so heavy, but when I get dry patches in the summer this is my go to. Lastly, this product is unscented, so you dont have to worry about a sting from fragrance, and if you are a perfume person, this wont cover that scent.
4. LA Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer UV -This is something that I started using about a year ago. It is so so so important to use a SPF on your face. And according to my physicians I am at the ripe old age of 30, so creams and SPF are important. So this moisturizer is perfect under makeup, and wont clog pores. One of the many great attributes of this product is the company boasts about the hydration properties in all of it's products. It is made with fancy, smancy French prebiotic thermal water, which helps restore the skins natural protective barrier. It is a sunscreen that helps hydrate your skin! You will never find that really! The packaging is convenient and small so you can carry it with you anywhere. I bring this baby to the gym, to the beach, really anywhere. It is so easy to apply, and the minute I put it on it soaks into my skin. This way I can continue doing the things I love like hike, or swim, and not worry about dry time. Finally the last thing I will say about this product is that it does have a very slight sunscreen smell. Honestly, it doesnt bother me at all, in fact, it goes away right after application. I am religious about using this SPF, and I hope to use this for many years.
3. Love Beauty & Planet Murumuru Butter & Rose Body Wash - To say I am obsessed whit this product is an understatement. Honestly, I am on my 4th bottle of this body wash getting ready to repurchase this again for my gym bag. The scent that this body wash gives off is so fragrant, and lovely that women will stop me getting out of the shower at the gym to ask what I am using. I am so in love with this product that I have written the company asking if they would hurry up and make a lotion with the scent too! What is great about this product is if you are environmentally conscious you will adore this product as much as I do. This product is Vegan, ethically sourced and not tested on animals. I am currently on the upswing of switching all my products on non animal testing list, and this is the perfect start. I bought this on a random trip to Target. (lets face it, one does not go to Target and just get what they need) Not only is this body wash ethically responsible, it is also a great way to hydrate your skin naturally. There are no sulfates, dyes or silicon, the company promises it is safe for sensitive skin. As for me, it has helped restore moisture to my dry skin, along with paring it with CeraVe, I have had no complaints this winter. The downside of this product is that the scent washes off almost immediately after you rinse your body. I wish the scent stayed longer after the shower, but honestly, it might mix differently with my perfume so I am ok with it. This product is my secret weapon in locker room showers, I love the scent it leaves off. And if anyone asks what I am using, I always tell them about this product.
2. Physicians Formula Bright Booster Oil Elixir - I am very new to oils and applying them on my face. Last year if you were to ask me how I felt with applying oils on my face I would have laughed at you. I have come a long way from believing oil is bad for you face. After watching numerous videos, and reading many articles about oils I decided to test this beauty ritual out. I wanted to try something that would work well, and wasn't too pricey. I tend to spend my money on things and end up never using them because I dont care for the product. This product from the moment I put it on my face has completely changed my perspective on facial oils. The oil itself is very rich so you dont need a lot of the product. I drop a tiny bit on my forehead, cheeks and chin. I began this regime by applying only at night. I was so scared that it would make me look like I slathered grease on my face. For the first 2 weeks I applied this product I noticed an immediate change in the texture of my skin, and feeling. Since I shower and wash my face 2 to 3 times a day, my face tends to get really dry. Sometimes its so dry it feels tight. This immediately changed the feeling of tightness. It alleviated the dryness of not only the over washing but the winter. I decided to go out on a limb and try if under makeup for the day. I combined 2 drops of this oil to my SPF moisturizer, and blended together. This oil combined with the moisturizer was amazing! It absorbed into my skin fast, and made applying my foundation smooth. Also I want to note that although I do tend to get a little oily mid day, this didnt make my skin dramatically more oily after use. I have noticed the red patches in my cheek area have almost diminished, along with a softer focus on my fine lines. I cant tell you enough great things about this product and how impressed with it I am.
1. Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum - And finally my number one beauty item I am currently using is the wrinkle serum by Neutrogena. OK so back story, I read in a certain beauty mag for ladies that by the time you hit 30 you should be actively using a wrinkle serum/cream. This not only freaked me out, but brought me back down to reality. I cant keep living in the past, I am no longer a 21 year old young lady, even though I feel like I am. I scoured the internet looking for a serum that would help me start my preventative routine for wrinkles. I needed something sustainable, and easy to use. I love starting rituals, and never doing them again. *face palm* I needed something that I can add to my nightly routine that would be good for my on the go life. I began using this serum about 6 months ago after numerous beauty vloggers mentioned it. I was on board because it was right in my price range for what I was willing to spend, and what I could afford. At Target this baby goes for 21.99, but most of the time you can find it on sale for 17.99. WINNING!!! I noted that everyone commented on the smell of this product. To quote them, it smells like cupcakes and my little pony. Being a kid that grew up in this era, I was ecstatic that it wasn't a chemical smell. This product goes on smoothly, and leave a subtle glow on my face. Perfect for when I want to jump into bed with a glow. lol I have noticed the look of my crows feet, and spots decreasing. It wasnt immediate, but it was pretty rapid. I didnt mention to anyone about starting the product because I wanted to see if anyone would notice. Of course like clockwork, my female friends did notice. They noticed the texture, and age spots starting to disappear. I had to let them in on my secret. This is not only a staple for my skin care routine, but many others.
